Newco Catering Equipment has completed the supply of kit to a Mexican quick service restaurant launched by a candidate from this year’s series of The Apprentice.

The ‘Burrito Kitchen’, which is a venture headed by Tim Stillwell, opened this week at Westfield Merry Hill in Birmingham.

Coventry-based Newco specialises in services and maintenance, but has also moved into new equipment sales in recent years. This year it is aiming to do £1m from supplying equipment.

Sales manager Dean Johnson worked with Stillwell ahead of the launch, supplying a range of Lincat cooking equipment including an Opus combi, Pitco fryers, Polar refrigeration, Robot Coupe veg prep equipment, a Bezzera coffee machine and a variety of light equipment.

“The most satisfying part was the fact that we turned this order around within three days from order to delivery, relying upon suppliers who delivered on their promises,” said Johnson. “This is an average size project for Newco — we are looking now into larger project due to our CAD design facility.”

Johnson said that Newco would also handle any ongoing kitchen maintenance at the site once the manufacturers’ warranty have expired.
