New trade show targets casual dining brands


A new trade show is being launched next year that will give catering equipment dealers a platform to target companies from the casual dining sector.

The show, called ‘Casual Dining’, will take place over two days next February at the Business Design Centre in London.

The event is being organised by the company behind the ‘lunch!’ show. It claims that consultations with the industry revealed a “significant gap” for a dedicated trade show aimed at the fast-growing casual dining space.

The UK casual dining market is estimated to be worth at least £5 billion and includes well-known high-street and pub brands, such as Carluccio’s, PizzaExpress, Nando’s, GBK, The Slug and Lettuce, Wetherspoons and O’Neill’s, as well as thousands of independents and gastro pubs.

Brands such as Gondola Group, Glendola Leisure Group, Prezzo, Pizza Hut and Carluccio’s have already confirmed they will have representatives attending the show.

Mark Fahey, managing director of Stockport-based catering equipment supplier Mr Whiteware, welcomed the launch of a show addressing the casual dining market.

“We attend many trade shows but casual dining is really where the big growth is at the moment, and a dedicated show is long overdue.”

There will be room for around 150 suppliers at the event, which will also include a high-profile seminar and keynote programme.

Organisers insist the timing of the event is ideal for businesses opening new establishments in the busy autumn period.
