New kitchens needed as TGI plots growth


Restaurant group TGI Friday’s looks poised to make a significant investment in new equipment to support a series of planned store openings this year.

The company’s UK director of acquisitions and development, David Carroll, said 2013 was on track to become one of the company’s “biggest years in the UK”.

TGI said yesterday that it has pencilled in six new store openings, creating 600 jobs in the process.

The first of the new stores will open in Leeds next month and Glasgow in August. The locations of the other four restaurants haven’t yet been confirmed.

The group currently operates more than 50 restaurants in the UK, where it has been present for almost 20 years.
