A firm with strong links into the German catering equipment manufacturing scene has set up a business targeting catering buyers in the hospitality, leisure and retail industries.
Gastrotech, a family-run company with offices in London and Kent, has sales partnerships with numerous high-end German kitchen and bar equipment suppliers, which it is aiming to leverage across the UK. It works with brands such as Ascobloc, Hagola, Ubert and Alexander Solia.
Gastrotech has been formed as a spin-off from SolutionsMe, a London firm providing project management, business development and procurement services.
Following its success in these fields and the sort of clients it comes into contact with, the group spotted a gap in the market to supply top quality catering equipment.
While SolutionsMe has supplied kitchen equipment to customers in the past as part of construction and fit-out projects it has worked on, the formation of Gastrotech creates a dedicated business for it to provide catering equipment and services.
Stefan Cutts, director of Gastrotech, said: “We are dedicated to providing innovation to the professional catering and bar industries while remaining competitive for our customers. Our priority is to ensure our clients receive a service like no other.”
Although Gastrotech’s focus is on German-made catering and bar equipment, the company says it is open to expanding its portfolio with products from other countries if the fit is right. It is currently in talks with an Italian brand that it is considering introducing to the portfolio, for example.
Gastrotech currently employs eight people, but also works with a number of fitters and contractors. Its offering includes cooking equipment, refrigeration, ventilation systems and dishwashers.
