Nespresso has officially announced the UK-wide launch of Zenius – its first professional coffee machine with remote connectivity.

The product has the ability to connect and communicate directly with Nespresso Customer Relationship Centres and an advanced capsule recognition technology, allowing Nespresso to respond to requests from customers to automatically replenish their coffee supplies.

Brema Drohan, UK and Ireland managing director of Nespresso, insists the system is the most technologically advanced it has ever introduced and will suit offices, hotels and retailers needing a stylish and compact machine.

“Zenius is fast and efficient, heating water to the optimum temperature for coffee in just 35 seconds and incorporates an automatic power off function in order to maximise efficiency and save on energy,” he explained. “It allows customers to enjoy the eight varieties of exceptional Grands Crus designed exclusively for business customers ranging from mild and aromatic to full-bodied and intense.”

Nespresso B2B machines are now used by a number of exclusive venues including Sketch, The Fat Duck, The Pig Hotel and The Ledbury, which Drohan says is a sign of the firm’s pedigree in the commercial market.

“The launch of Zenius in the UK comes as the growth of Nespresso as a consumer brand is steadily being matched by the strengthening of the business-to-business offering,” he said.

Nespresso is headquartered in Switzerland and operates in more than 50 countries, employing 7,000 staff.
