MYA Consulting has partnered with a local West Country distributor on a new project at the Hinkley Point C power station in Somerset.
Caterer, Somerset Larder, set up to provide Hinkley Point staff with dining options, wants to ensure that locally-sourced produce is used in the foodservice offering.
MYA Consulting was awarded the contract to work with Somerset Larder, along with the local dealer, giving a new look and feel to the existing restaurant facilities, and designing new retail shops and coffee shops for the entire site.
According to Steve Braithwaite, MD of Somerset Larder: “We chose MYA because it offered thought leadership in design, took time to understand the culture of our customers, and demonstrated a unique design flair for the project.”
Carla McKenzie, MD of MYA, commented: “The credit goes to our head of studio, Catherine Francis, who will be leading the project: she has a strong retail approach, and we’re planning to create a high street experience inside this massive complex.
“Somerset Larder is on a mission to deliver the best food on a construction site in Europe. And because it ‘thinks local’, it will create an economic legacy for the region, which will live on long past the building stage. We’re delighted to be on board with this important project.”
