Smeg UK hosted a number of key foodservice customers at the recent MotoGP race held at Silverstone.
The manufacturer’s Italian freight forwarding partner, T&C SRL, which sponsors Team Gresini Racing in Moto GP invited select customers to the hospitality area of the UK race.
Cilents included Jack Sharkey from Vision CK, Simon Tavender from Catering Equipment Support, Duncan Vipas from RH Hall, Phil Youngman of P&N Associates, Jonathan Walton from YCE, plus several customers from Smeg’s domestic business.
T&C’s director, Andriano Zavaroni, who regularly attends races, led the hospitality which included access to behind the scenes at MotoGP. Guests were treated to a tour of six of the MotoGP team hospitality areas to see the teams and colour coded Smeg appliances.
They were also given garage access and the privilege to see and touch the bikes, including race winner Maverick Vinale’s bike and Valentino Rossi’s. After a number of appliances were donated to the Gresini Aprilia racing team they invited guests to join them in their hospitality area on the Saturday night for a three-course meal with free-flowing drinks along with the team owner and senior staff. Additionally, one of the team’s riders also joined for a short period.
For a number of years Smeg has supported the only dedicated hospitality restaurant not affiliated to a MotoGP team which is provided by Italian company Servino & Son Hospitality. Smeg were given an exclusive VIP area within the restaurant that was packed with Smeg logos and a domestic Smeg FAB fridge. The kitchens also use a number of Smeg commercial appliances.
