Wireless temperature monitoring manufacturer Monika has agreed a multi-year extension with antimicrobial solution provider BioCote.

Having worked with BioCote for the past 3 years, all of Monika’s current hardware including the smart readers, hand probes and core sensors feature the latest coating to protect against bacteria and mould.

Created using a formulation of silver-ions, zinc, copper and organic active ingredients, the coating should allow products to be more hygienic, protected against stains, odours and material degradation, safer to use and easier to clean.

The coating is designed to bind with any potentially harmful microbes that come into contact with the surface and irreparably damage them to prevent harmful bacterial growth.

Integrated during the manufacturing process, Monika introduced the use of the BioCote formula to add an additional level of protection for operators using the company’s range of hand-held readers, probes and sensors that come into regular contact with food items.

Simon Frost, MD of Monika commented: “We’ve worked closely with BioCote the past few years and as such are delighted to be able to announce that all of our equipment will feature this state-of-the-art antimicrobial coating, designed to guarantee superior hygiene for a further 3 years.

“As the market leader in the field, BioCote continue to demonstrate a clear commitment to pushing boundaries in the pursuit for quality and consistency in hygiene.

“This, combined with Monika’s experience in wireless monitoring and total food safety systems, ensures we are able to offer our customers the very best solution for their businesses.”
