Kate Aston has joined MKN UK as regional sales manager for London and the South East.
“Kate’s dealer based experience and knowledge of other heavy equipment brands will enhance the MKN market presence,” commented MKN UK’s sales and marketing director, Stuart Long. “Her role covers one of the busiest geographic sectors for MKN and she will be focused on driving new business and supporting the existing MKN dealer base in the area.”
Aston started her sales career at the age of 20 with Bunzl Catering Supplies as national account executive, before moving to Bunzl Lockhart as regional sales executive.
“I’ve always covered London and the south east as an area,” said Aston. “I spent a brief time in crockery manufacturing before getting into the ‘mysterious’ world of cooking equipment!”
Subsequently she spent 6 years with Ali Group brand Dawson MMP. “I loved every minute of my time there working with top kitchen houses such as Hallmark, to smaller one off equipment suppliers and also active with the end users. Heavy equipment manufacturing is an interesting industry, one I enjoy and feel definitely one I work well in,” she commented.
“Moving into MKN is an exciting time for me and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead. MKN is a well respected brand with a well known team of guys in the industry and I’m excited to become part of that.
“The best bit for me about this job is that no two days are the same and I love the variety. Working with kitchen houses and scheme dealers on projects and seeing a kitchen turn from a drawing to a fully functioning kitchen with my assistance and input is what makes it the job I enjoy.”
