MKN combi ovens will be available to distributors through Imperial Catering Equipment from next month following a sales partnership that the pair predicts will become the norm for the industry in years to come.

The agreement will see Imperial supply its existing distribution network and target multiple site national account operators, while MKN will continue to directly sell to its own customer base.

MKN hopes the arrangement will enable it to penetrate the untapped QSR, casual dining and brewery sectors.

Stuart Long, sales and marketing director for MKN, said the partnership combined a youthful hunger for the industry and the ability to work hand-in-hand in different market sectors.

“Both MKN and Imperial believe this sort of partnership will become standard in years to come as manufacturers and agents look at ways to work smarter and more efficiently.”

Imperial claims it mounted a “global search” for the right combi brand to add to its range, eventually settling on the HansDampf Gold combi range produced by the German manufacturer.

Andy Piggin, Imperial’s sales director, said the addition of a first combi line to its offering would “up the ante” on the solutions it provides.

“Epitomising great German engineering, MKN is widely recognised as one of the world’s frontrunners when it comes to quality and performance, and the addition of their combi oven is an exciting one that closes a global search for the right manufacturer — our historic supplier base of North America simply not being the region to source such an oven.”

As of September 1, MKN combis will be available ex-stock from Imperial on a next-day basis and product information made readily available through CaterQuotes.
