Located in the heart of Holborn, Camden, L’oscar Hotel London is an exquisite, boutique hotel, which was recently revamped by well-known interior designer of Parisian hotels and restaurants, Jacques Garcia.
Refurbished from a grade II listed former church, L’oscar was designed with magnificent attention to detail, with the layout of the hotel mirroring that of a vintage theatre. Described as ‘London’s Most Stylish New Hotel’, L’oscar has been carefully furnished with leather wallpaper and velvet carpets, and was built with elevated ceilings and wonderfully decorated interiors. Along with an exceptional guest room, L’oscar offers guests ‘an exhilarating dining experience’ in the hotel’s restaurant, the Baptist Grill, under the guidance of executive chef, Tony Fleming.
To coincide with the hotel’s official opening earlier this year, MKN was appointed to supply a full turnkey solution of professional cooking technology as specified by GWP Consultants. This included all thermal cooking appliances, such as a custom bespoke island suite, a range of combination ovens, salamanders and bratt pans.
C&C Catering Equipment project managed, installed and commissioned all the equipment for this scheme.
Tony Fleming was very pleased with the outcome of the project, and expressed his preferences for using MKN equipment. He commented: “I’m personally a fan of having a central island and a separate area for heavier, bulk cooking. Having the MKN SpaceCombi set up on the cooking island is a brilliant way to save on space due to the appliance being multifunctional, and its also a good way to save on energy due to the automatic cleaning system and green consumption display.
“MKN equipment is a fantastic choice for use in commercial kitchens as it is responsive, robust and built to last. The equipment is also very easy to use due to its modern MagicPilot touch operating system, and is easy to operate whilst wearing gloves or even when hands may be greasy from handling food.”
