MKN expands UK team with senior hire

Heavy duty equipment brand MKN has expanded its UK team by bringing a new senior executive on board.

Wayne Bennett, who previously served as general manager of rival Ambach, has joined the company as special projects director.

Stuart Long, sales and marketing director of MKN, confirmed the appointment and described it as a “great acquisition” for the FlexiChef multifunction system manufacturer.

“Wayne will be looking after consultants and distributors and some national accounts, so it’s a good spread,” said Long. “He is a great asset for the team and he’s going to be a fantastic member of the team.”

Bennett has considerable experience of the catering equipment market. Prior to heading Ambach worked as a design consultant at the Russell Partnership.

MKN, whose parent company is based in Germany, now has four members of staff in the UK and is aiming to build on that further as it grows the business.

Long said Bennett’s appointment was part of a plan to build the team up over the next few years.

“There will hopefully be a fifth member in terms of administration fairly shortly as we have also just gained a showroom and training facility in with First Choice at Cannock,” he revealed. “It is labelled and branded up as MKN, so we are taking a [space within] the business.”
