MKN is rolling out a hybrid version of its FlexiCombi Magic Pilot combi steamers aimed at foodservice operators tight on kitchen space.
The ‘SpaceCombi Magic Pilot’ and ‘SpaceCombi Classic’ offer all the benefits of the standard model, but in a 550mm-wide format, according to the manufacturer.
Stuart Long, UK sales and marketing director for MKN, said: “Combi ovens are no longer a mystery and can bring great advantages to kitchens, from versatility and efficiency to ease of use and a solution if you have limited extraction, as well as new technological features.
“However, many kitchens are quite limited on space, which can be a challenge, but always looking to provide solution, our new SpaceCombis really help solve this problem out.”
The new lines offer a choice of manual cooking functions with convection and pressureless fresh steam either separately, one after the other or combined with moist or dry heat.
Available in Compact (6 x GN 1/1) and Junior (6 x GN 2/3) versions, the SpaceCombi MagicPilot can be supplied in single phase electrical connection on a 32amp breaker, helping older kitchens that do not have 3 phase power, and can be stacked to save on floor space.
Long insists a real selling point of the SpaceCombi MagicPilot is that MKN will provide free software updates that can be downloaded from the MKN website and uploaded via a USB.
“Others charge for this service,” he said “In terms of the new technology involved in the development of the equipment, it allows caterers to cook on an impressively small footprint, increasing the food offering and making life so much easier for the operator.”
