The professional division of Miele has appointed Simon Venni as its new head of professional sales for the UK.

Venni brings much experience to his role, having spent almost 20 years with Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco Group). Responsible for delivering significant sales targets, during his career there he worked in a variety of sales roles globally, and most recently in the UK as regional business manager, and next generation product sales manager.

He is keen to build on Miele’s success in sales of commercial laundry equipment, dishwashers and other appliances into key sectors such as care, hospitality and veterinary practices.

Commenting on his appointment, Venni said: “I’m delighted to join Miele. It’s a premium brand and I’ve seen first-hand how our products are manufactured to ensure quality is maintained throughout every stage of the process.

“Joining Miele from a different sector allows me to bring a fresh perspective to my new role. To achieve my sales goals I need the support of a high engaged and talented sales force. My immediate focus will be on driving and further developing the team so we are well placed to keep pushing the business forward.”

Sam Baily, sales and marketing director at Miele, said: “We are delighted that Simon has joined the Miele Professional team. He brings to the role a real understanding of growing sales in key markets through independent partners and strategic accounts.

“Importantly, he shares the same values and integrity as the Miele business and is committed to a culture of continuous improvement or ‘Immer Besser’ as we say around here. I’m really looking forward to working with Simon to grow our business, together with our partners.”
