Network Catering Engineers has appointed Ctrack to develop and implement an advanced vehicle tracking system across 61 vans within its fleet.

Under the agreement, the Halesowen-based kitchen repair specialist will use the web-based tracking tool Ctrack Online to enhance fleet utilisation, reduce operational overheads and minimise customer response times.

Ctrack Online will be used from its West Midlands HQ to provide added visibility and control over its engineering team, which services customers nationwide.

It will support reactive and proactive planning and scheduling across all equipment breakdowns, planned preventative maintenance and equipment installations to help make best use of available resources.

Jed Hodgkins, operations director at Network Catering Engineers, said: “Ctrack Online will provide added visibility and control over our engineering team to help optimise our fleet operation and enhance the service we provide our customers.”

Network Catering Engineers says the tool will also allow it to target fuel and maintenance savings by reducing vehicle mileage and improving driver behaviour.

Ctrack Online will enable the company to identify the closest vehicle to an incoming job to minimise journey lengths, while the ‘Driver Performance League Table’ reporting will help identify areas of improvement within the fleet and encourage responsible driving.
