Merseyside fabricator saved by buyout

Kirkby-based catering equipment fabricator, Fabs 4 Limited, has been rescued from administration thanks to the sale of the business to a new outfit called Cofabco.

The deal is said to have safeguarded 17 jobs.

Companies House records show that Cofabco was established on 15 January at London Road, Liverpool, though further details are unavailable at this time.

Financial advisor Duff & Phelps was appointed as the administrator of Fabs 4 Limited, which specialised in the manufacture and installation of bespoke catering solutions to the commercial catering industry, specifically in the hotel and leisure and education sectors.

Catering Insight previously reported that the firm was being pursued by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over tax debts of £178,000.

HMRC petitioned to wind the company up, with the hearing scheduled at Royal Courts of Justice in London on 19 January, but the change in ownership appears to have ensured its future.

Management from the company were unable to be reached for comment on the latest development.
