Meiko’s reverse osmosis water treatment technology, GiO, has improved reliability so much for its washing machines that it is able to offer a three year no bills guaranteed warranty.
The need for water softeners is eliminated with the GiO enhancement, says Meiko, a major benefit for restaurateurs that so often blame limescale build up for breakdowns.
"The only issue we’ve had with Meiko warewashing is down to softeners. We need to salt twice a day because the water is so hard. I hate softeners because you never have a member of staff who knows how to use them properly,” said restaurateur and Meiko customer David Moore.
GiO reverse osmosis helps cut maintenance bills associated with softeners and also running costs by reducing the need for chemicals.
Detergent and rinse aid consumption is reduced, Meiko claims, saving cost and helping the environment. The need for salt and powder or liquid chlorinated chemicals for glassware renovation is also eliminated.

Meiko dealers also gain a regular point of access to their customers thanks to the GiO cartridge filter exchange programme, that requires customers to change their filters every six months in order to maintain the no bills warranty.
