Meiko UK staff have held a charity BBQ in aid of Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital.
Staff from the Slough-based manufacturer gathered to help raise funds following the company’s financial director being successfully treated for bladder cancer.
Peter Barry had benefitted from Guy’s pioneering research and was successfully treated after a course of immunotherapy at the hospital.
Held last Friday, the guests had to endure one of the summer’s first downpours.
Mark Roberts, marketing manager at Meiko UK, said: “Cooks for the day were Paul Anderson and Mick Jary. We were able to keep them and the food dry because we had the foresight to erect some gazebos. In true British fashion we were all able to keep out of the rain by huddling together.”
£2,870 has been raised in aid of the Charity so far.
