Buying group ENSE has agreed terms with Meiko and Precision, taking the number of catering equipment suppliers in its network to 26.
The latest tie-ups provide a further boost to ENSE’s growing UK dealer network, which collectively represent more than £125m in purchasing power.
ENSE has been in talks with Meiko for the past year, but the warewashing manufacturer wanted to make sure that any commitment it made did not compromise its existing sales strategy and pricing structure first.
“We are now fully satisfied that the contract that we have in place with ENSE will have no impact whatsoever on the existing agreements that we have in place with our Partner Distributor network,” said managing director Bill Downie.
“We also look forward to introducing our glass and dishwashing products to those ENSE distributor members that in the past may have not considered Meiko UK as a supplier partner and to hitting the sales development targets that we have discussed with [ENSE founder] Bob Adams.”
Jeremy Hall, sales director at Precision, said that joining the group was an opportunity for the refrigeration manufacturer to get closer to dealers.
“ENSE is a dynamically driven organisation that brings suppliers and dealers together. It facilitates a more detailed dialogue than we normally see on a day-to-day basis and allows us to take a deeper commercial interest in each other’s business.”
ENSE said the latest signings were proof that the group is really starting to create energy in the market, with UK sales director Robin McKnight commenting: “ENSE is growing well and we are delighted that suppliers with the stature and integrity of Meiko and Precision believe ENSE can deliver value to the supply chain.
“A core part of what ENSE does is to facilitate commitment from members to ensure that, for example, distributors will look more favourably at our supplier members,” he added.
ENSE currently has 34 dealer members from across the UK.
