If Paul Neville was daunted that he was stepping into the big shoes of his father Ron’s MD role at CHR Equipment, then he hasn’t shown it.
Following Ron’s retirement last year, Paul has stepped up to lead the Preston-based dealer to further success.
Not only was the distributor nominated for this year’s CEDA Grand Prix Awards in the medium projects category for the design installation of an eco-kitchen at The Drunken Duck in Ambleside, the Lake District, it won the small projects category for an energy-saving kitchen it specified and outfitted for Martel Smith at The Dawnay Arms, Newton on Ouse.
Paul already had several years’ sales experience under his belt when he was originally asked to join the family business in 1993.
Prior to his promotion into the MD hot seat, he worked his way up to the sales director role, where he was responsible for a team of six, responding to new business requirements and ongoing support of existing clients.
It’s the long term client relationships that Paul enjoys about CHR’s work. For instance, in 1998 the company installed a new cooking suite at a further education college.
10 years later he helped to work on a new build project at the college, and that same suite featured in the latter kitchen design.
He always ensures that CHR delivers value for money to a long-established list of clients. His passion for his role is clear, and he hopes he will get to the end of his career continuing to do the thing he loves.
