Olivia Hawkins was appointed to the Fulcrum Commercial Kitchens’ team as the service manager in September 2015, helping to look after the maintenance side of the Marlborough-based dealer.
Stepping straight into the industry after graduating from Bath Spa University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History, where she attained a 2:1, Olivia has joined a growing team, with Fulcrum increasingly winning more project business and therefore creating more sites for her to manage.
Last year the schemes included The George Hotel at Braunton, just outside Barnstaple; the Salisbury branch of Thai tapas chain, Koh Thai; the latest site for bakery chain, Gails’ Artisan Bakery, in Oxford; gastropub The Foundry in Chichester; plus a £130,000 scheme at The Farmer’s Club in Whitehall, Central London, which is a private members’ club for the agricultural community. There the distributor developed the expansion of the venue’s first floor restaurant kitchen to serve a new banqueting suite called Project Quest, plus outfitted an additional bar area and ground floor kitchenette.
With a varied career in the hospitality industry, focused heavily in customer service, Olivia relishes the challenge of heading up the service department at Fulcrum. Her colleagues report that she thrives under pressure. Her experience in client relations and working against deadlines, coupled with the organisational skills acquired during her degree, has prepared her perfectly for the role as service manager.
The dealer is confident that its customers and suppliers alike appreciate Olivia’s no-nonsense approach to problem solving and believes that her appointment has only strengthened the business going forward.
