Jack McEvoy has followed in his father John, mother Julie and and sister Sophie’s footsteps by joining the family business: Bournville Catering Equipment.
Starting in a full time role in sales at the Solihull-based distributor this January, Jack has already hit the ground running. He has come up with some fantastic ideas and has been very instrumental in some major orders the dealer has won so far this year.
Jack has made his first foray into a business his father established in 2004 and which is consistently growing.
Late last year he got a taste of what was to come, as he witnessed the Bournville team take on a difficult-to-access project at Cheal’s restaurant in Henley in Arden. The project managers had to lug all the equipment up the stairs of a fire escape around the back of the site, working out some ingenious solutions to ensure that all the kit could be transported to and fit into the small space available.
Starting his role at an opportune time, Jack was on-hand with his father to pick up the 2015 ENSE Distributor Newcomer of the Year award at the consortium’s 2016 conference in Leeds earlier this year, after the dealer had recently joined the buying group. Bournville was given this accolade as it supported at least 50% of ENSE suppliers over the previous 12 months.
Jack is still learning all about the company and this sector, but his colleagues have no doubt that he is going to grow the business further and build some great relationships within the industry.
