Ron Cullen has been the main Installation Engineer at Blackpool-based distributor Commercial Kitchen Services (CKS) for the past 19 years.
He has just retired from the industry, but he very much deserves this place on the Power List due to his dedication to his role during his sterling career.
His final project for CKS was for the distributor’s latest refurbishment of iconic events venue Blackpool Winter Gardens. He worked on the main kitchen installation alone and put in many long hours to ensure it was handed over on time.
CKS celebrated his retirement in style and on his last day took him back to one of his favourite haunts – The Cartford Inn at Little Eccleston. Ron has been involved in this site for all the years Patrick and Julie Beaume have owned the pub and it holds many fond memories for him.
Other project installs he steered in recent times included upgrading an existing restaurant kitchen in the Ribby Hall holiday village in Wrea Green at the beginning of this year. For this scheme, Ron ensured that all the works including the strip out and building alterations were completed in a tight 14 day window – including managing some of the trades working through the night. Last year he also oversaw the delivery of a turnkey project for the Villa Italian Restaurant at the Guildhall in Preston, Lancashire.
He ensured from commencement through to the opening night, that the installation ran without a hitch and that any problems or glitches were quickly resolved.
