Paul Holder joined Court Catering Equipment as an apprentice in November 2008. At that point he had no sector or technical experience but he took to the business and the industry like a duck to water.
He absorbed all the technical information and training he could, and within 2 years he was fully qualified in gas, subsequently swiftly gaining his electrical certification too.
At an early stage it was obvious he would be an asset for the London-based distributor, and so he was sent on the IOSH (Managing Safely) course and passed that exam with flying colours too.
In 2014 Court decided that the future of its service department lay with its enthusiastic competent younger blood and so reviewed Paul’s career with him. This resulted in the creation of a structure where he is being integrated into the management of the company’s service department, currently as Technical Manager.
However, he has set such a high standard that by the end of the year the firm expects to hand him full responsibility of the division, taking over from the current manager as Service and Spares Manager.
Accolades have come thick and fast for Paul and earlier this year he was deservedly presented with the CEDA Rising Star Award 2017. He is already very involved in the association as part of the CEDA Academy, which promotes young talent in the industry. He attends the meetings when he can and enjoys collaborating and understanding other aspects of the sector.
