Along with sibling Ben, Kirstin Hatherley is continuing her family’s dynasty at Hatherley Commercial Services (HCS). She has been an integral part of the Newark-based firm’s steady growth, year on year, and in just the last 12 months has driven an investment in new systems and IT.
This includes fully integrated software for servicing which monitors the company’s engineer fleet whereabouts. The system means that all seven of the company’s engineers can now receive their jobs via a tablet device and send any estimates instantly. Kirstin is ensuring that these engineers will be fully up to date with all technology, as she is overseeing the investment in a new vehicle fleet this year too.
One of her main roles at the firm is to create the design drawings for the projects HCS takes on, with particular expertise in school, cafe and garden centre schemes. Furthermore she pushes the firm’s staff to keep on top of current developments with manufacturer product training or engineer qualifications. Plus she is looking to the next generation by hiring a second apprentice, who will be specialising in gas appliance installation.
Kirstin’s industry colleagues clearly respect her, as she has just been voted as the new chair of CEDA’s Northern Region. The members have faith that she will support the association’s national growth and engage with them to ensure their views are taken into account.
