Jon Greep took over the running of HCE Foodservice Equipment in January 2006 and from the outset he had a very clear vision and an unwavering desire to develop a company that would have an outstanding reputation for kitchen projects.
He recognised that the jobs of sales people and project managers were two entirely different roles and moved key personnel, creating a new backbone for the business and bringing together a project sales team and a project management team that work together hand-in-hand. This change laid the foundations to grow the business in an efficient, structured manner.
Prior to Jon taking over the business, HCE had never undertaken any large projects, however under Jon’s reign the first baptism of fire was to ensure that the fit-out of the new Ascot grandstand (a £2.6m project) was completed in a nigh-on impossible 8 week period, when originally some 16 weeks had been allocated for these works to be completed – HCE succeeded. Previously, Jon was also instrumental in helping secure some of London’s most prestigious landmark hotels including The Savoy, The Corinthia, The Bvlgari, Hilton T5 and Shangri La at The Shard.
Over the past couple of years, the distributor has secured some of its best-known projects to date for which Jon was directly involved at final negotiation stages. These include: James Martin’s Chewton Glen Hotel and Cookery School, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Tate Modern, AELTC Wimbledon, BET 365 Head Office, Bournemouth University, Gansevoort Hotel and North East Surrey College of Technology.
Furthermore, he has recently overseen the launch of HCE’s new website showing its range of specialist catering facility services. The new site also gives the opportunity for potential customers to discover the types of work HCE has completed.
