Catering equipment supplier MCS Technical Products is providing twin CookTek induction hobs for the chef competitions during World Skills UK Live on Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 November at NEC Birmingham.
World Skills UK Live is the UK’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event, designed to help young people on the road to finding their chosen career. It includes 230 employers, expert advice, speaks and exhibitions.
The WorldSkills UK competitions are an important aspect of the event which equip young people with the right skills to help UK businesses compete better globally.
Steve Snow, MD of MCS Technical Products said: “We are pleased to support this initiative. With the chef skills shortage in the hospitality industry, it is important to encourage as many young people as possible to enter our industry.
“By supplying the latest catering equipment for the chef competitions, students will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of induction. We wish them every success in the competition.”
The CookTek counter top twin unit induction hobs that will be used are said to be energy saving and easy to control for precise heating and only use energy when the pan is in place.
Snow added: “These induction hobs will greatly help the students in the competitions as they are easy to use, efficient and reliable. Induction cooking is 90% energy efficient when compared to a gas flame which is between 30% and 50% efficient.”
