MCS Technical Products believes it has found the answer to the catering market’s need for a commercial-grade cooking mixer.
The Swindon-based importer has struck a deal with Roboqbo that will see it become the UK and Ireland agent for the Italian manufacturer’s innovative Bluechef QR3.5 appliance.
MCS boss, Steve Snow, first caught sight of a prototype of the product two years ago but has only just secured the rights to bring the latest version of the product to the UK.
The Bluechef 3.5 combines all the advantages of a cutter, blender, liquidiser and cooking mixer. It is capable of and refining cooked or raw food in any condition, both with or without liquids.
Snow says that similar products which already exist in the market are designed for retail use and while they may do a good job in a commercial setting they do not offer the durability that chefs require.
“This really answers all the questions and the main difference is that it is a true heavy duty cutter. It also cooks with a jacketed steam kettle, which creates all-round heat rather than just bottom heat. It can cook twice the quantity in less than half the time as the others.”
At 3.6 litres, Snow said the jug would also suit a professional catering environment. “The biggest problem chefs say they have when I’ve talked to them is durability and capacity,” he says. “This is heavy duty and made to last.”
The Bluechef’s list price of £2,690 makes it significantly more expensive than alternative products on the market, such as the Thermomix, but Snow insists the appliance’s performance and functionality justify the price tag.
He adds that Roboqbo has also been specialising in the food processing market for more than 30 years. “Although it is a brand new product on the market, Roboqbo has been making heavy duty equipment for a good number of years and this is the first of a new division if you like.”
