Commercial kitchen maintenance firm McFT has launched a franchise operation to enhance its existing national coverage.
The business offers maintenance and servicing of commercial kitchens to a range of clients throughout the UK including those in the business, healthcare and education sectors. A large proportion of the business is centred around major conurbations, but there are several client sites in more rural areas of the country including Devon and Cornwall, south Wales and East Anglia.
Franchise operations manager James Chapman commented: “While we cover the UK already, there are some areas which fall outside our usual patch – meaning long journeys for occasional site visits and we believe this industry development is a win-win-win: our business reach is enhanced and made more efficient, our customers benefit from local and faster response – and there’s a terrific opportunity for engineers who’ve always wanted to run their own business but been afraid of the admin and paperwork to setup and go.”
Franchise development director Karen McDonagh added: “I joined the business with 20 years of franchise experience, with the specific brief of launching this complementary service to McFT’s core activity.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to leverage over 20 years of independent, premium service delivery, our own digital solutions as well as our world-class training to offer this industry first. To the best of our knowledge and research, no one has yet launched a franchise operation in this field. We’ve already had keen enquiries and, after exhaustive selection and training, we aim to have our first franchisees up and running by the end of the year.”
McFT will continue to grow its team of 70 employed engineers through its training development programme. The franchisees will create an additional resource to support the team, and they will have the additional flexibility to source their own local business as well as servicing McFT’s national clients.
