Service and maintenance provider Marren has launched its own-brand microwave.
The company feels that with 35 years’ experience in this sector, it is well-placed to understand the operator pains related to this type of equipment.
Backed by a manufacturer 3-year on-site warranty, the new ISM-1800 microwave is designed to be quick and easy to clean with removable roof liner.
It features top and bottom magnetrons for a greater and more even heat distribution and has a 17.9litre capacity to allow more food to be cooked in one cycle.
With 1,800W power for faster cooking times, increased efficiency and speed of service, the unit also incorporates 100 auto programs for accurate temperature settings and to help prevent over or undercooking, while bulk program imports can be facilitated via USB for new menu rollouts.
The microwave has a removable facia option with various designs and the ability to apply company branding. There is also space for the food item to be written and logged against the relevant program number.
An important factor throughout Marren’s development phase was to lower the overall cost of ownership and to encourage repairs rather than replace the microwave when a breakdown occurs.
Marren looked at the top 10 replacement parts of a number of comparable microwaves and compared them against its new ISM-1800 model. The results reportedly showed a cost reduction of between 40 to 80%.
Kelly Barrell, business development manager at Marren said: “Sustainability was always going to be an important factor for us but we needed to deliver this without any compromise on quality.
“Our knowledge of operator pains has helped us develop this product and we are excited to launch it onto the market. With more financially viable repairs possible, it’s good to know this type of equipment will stay out of our landfill for longer.
“We already operate as a nationwide single service provider with a first-time fix priority, which makes the warranty support being offered alongside this product incredibly valuable.”
She further revealed: “To celebrate the launch and in recognition of our commitment to the environment, for every microwave sold we will donate £5 to World Land Trust to plant a tree. A Buy One Get One Tree offer so to speak, which will help mitigate our environmental impact.
“There has already been quite a lot of interest amongst our existing customers. The microwave has been tested in a major restaurant chain and department store. Both have placed sizeable orders based on their experience.”
