Marren expands spares warehouse capacity

Marren mezzanine crop
Marren has expanded the capacity of its spares storage thanks to increased demand for its ISM-1800 microwaves.

Marren Microwave has added an extra 2,000ft2 mezzanine floor in the spares warehouse at its Earls Barton headquarters.

The additional storage will facilitate two 40ft containers of the firm’s own brand ISM-1800 microwave ovens coming in March and April to fulfil pre-orders from several large restaurant chains.

The £35,000 works took 2 weeks to complete and concluded this week. Marren now has double loading bays to aid stock rotation, with the extra storage facility installed over existing parts racking, without having to empty the warehouse.

With a 95T maximum weight limit for the mezzanine, Marren is also intending to reserve some of the area for the storage of its new ‘Scan Heat’ microwave being launched soon.

Business development manager Kelly Barrell said: “We’ve had such great interest with our microwave that we’ve had to expand our warehouse space with a mezzanine floor.

“We have gone from being in a space that we thought we spend the next decade growing into to adapting the warehouse to gain more space for stock.”

All works were risk-assessed prior to commencing, with the installation carried out by Mezzanines & Storage Equipment.

Electrics were provided by Raymen & Co Electrical and the emergency lighting is in accordance with BS 5266 2016. While the fire systems by Smiths Fire LLP were installed to Part B Fire safety standards BS5839.
