Marco Beverage Systems has launched an undercounter version of its variable temperature water boiler, the Ecosmart.

The company insists the product will help baristas to get the best from their beverages by tailoring the temperature of the brewing water to the type of tea or coffee they are using.

Until now, it says that atmospheric water boilers have delivered water at temperatures between 93°C and 96°C, which is too hot for some delicate green and white teas and for most coffees.

The Ecosmart, however, can be programmed to give water at temperatures from 96°C at the top end down to 70°C, with an accuracy of+/- 0.5C.

“The undercounter model builds on the success of the countertop Ecosmart and Marco’s Ecoboiler range generally,” says UK sales director, Chris York. “It neatly solves the problem of differing water temperature requirements for black teas, white teas and coffee.”

Marco insists the Ecosmart is designed to deliver ‘best in class’ energy efficiency at a price in line with standard boilers on the market, and with annual running costs at £45 lower than traditional models.

The Ecosmart boiler can be used with two different font styles, the most popular based on the Über font but supplied with two dispense buttons. This font can be linked to two Ecosmart undercounter boilers set at precise temperatures for different beverages.

“The boiler fits in most work surface cupboards with just a font visible on the counter, thus leaving more space, which is so often at a premium in catering outlets,” adds York.
