Manufacturer unleashes ‘free electricity’ deal

Rising utility bills are a thorn in the side of all caterers, so the idea of getting electricity for free is something that most catering equipment buyers wouldn’t need to think twice about.

And that’s just what cooking manufacturer Frima is proposing with a special promotion that guarantees customers power at no extra cost when they buy its flagship VarioCooking Center Multificiency.

Frima is offering customers the chance to reclaim the first 1,000kWh of electricity they use on any unit they purchase between now and the end of 2013.

The company hopes the deal will help highlight the energy efficiency of its kit.

Graham Kille, managing director of Frima UK, said caterers were essentially saving energy “twice over” given that the company claims its latest VarioCooking Center is already up to 40% more energy efficient than “conventional cooking equipment”.

Frima insists that in terms of heat transfer, the system is over 95% efficient, making it even more energy efficient than induction cooking. Conventional equipment, such as fryers, may only be around 60% efficient, it claims.

“With the free electricity promotion, we’re trying to really push the energy efficiency message,” added Kille. “Modern commercial kitchens are crying out for space-saving, energy efficient equipment.
