Mansfield Pollard looks to future manufacturing talent

Air management company Mansfield Pollard has strengthened its growing relationship with Bradford College by sponsoring two categories at its Higher Education Awards ceremony.

Held on 13 May at the College’s newly refurbished Dyehouse Gallery, the annual event recognises the academic achievements and personal triumphs of the higher education students of Bradford College.

A range of awards were handed out to the top achievers, with Mansfield Pollard sponsoring the Mechanical Engineering award and the Engineering Electrical Student award, which was scooped up by Aftab Hussain, who is a trainee engineer at the company.

The manufacturer believes Hussain had displayed ability, commitment and professionalism to succeed in his chosen area of study and that his hard work resulted in a first class honours degree in BEng electrical and electronic engineering and overall distinction grade in HND electrical and electronic engineering.

Anthony Huison, engineering lecturer at Bradford College said: “Mansfield Pollard’s continued involvement reflects the links which exist between higher education and the business community. We appreciate all the support that they have given us over the years.”

Mansfield Pollard’s commercial director Paul Dresser added: “Mansfield Pollard has invested significant efforts to establish itself as an employer of choice in Bradford and our relationship with Bradford College is helping us to identify young engineering talent. As a business it is really exciting to nurture those who will play an important part in our firm’s future. ”
