Manitowoc reveals new time-shaving grill range

Garland Xpress Grill 3 Lid

Manitowoc Foodservice has launched the new XPress Grill by Garland, which it claims can reduce cook times by up to 50% compared to conventional flat grills.

After undergoing a complete redesign, the XPress Grill is a two-sided grill with upper and lower grill plates able to cook both sides of the food simultaneously.

The grill range features an increased 5cm cook height, designed to give operators extensive menu flexibility.

The firm said outlets can increase production and product consistency while halving cook times and reducing labour costs, on an extensive variety of products; without having to compromise cooking quality and results.

New temperature controls with smart anticipation allow food to be cooked to the appropriate core temperature each time, aiming to eliminate the problem of over or under cooked product.

Each grill lane is equipped with five independently controlled temperature sensors, allowing for accurate temperature control. Rapid heat recovery and pre-heat features hope to make the grill able to react quickly to the peaks and troughs of different service times.

Boasting energy efficiencies increases in the region of 20% compared to previous models, each grill lane can be independently operated at their own unique set temperature for menu flexibility or turned off for energy savings when not required, the firm claimed.

This is designed to give operators freedom to match their energy spending to the required capacity at varying times of the day. As well as aiming to create annual savings on the equipment and HVAC, it also looks to improve the kitchen environment for staff by reducing unnecessary excess heat emitted from the grill.

Designed for ease of use, the Garland XPress Grill features a new easyTouch full colour display touchscreen with simple icon based controls, enabling staff to operate the grill regardless of skill or language level.

Menu programmes can be updated using the easy to access USB port which allows the same menu to be programmed across multiple Garland XPress Grill across numerous locations.
