Manitowoc makes distribution head’s role permanent


Manitowoc has confirmed that Steve Hemsil will permanently lead the company’s distribution activities in the UK, filling the gap left by Simon Frost’s exit last year.

Hemsil (pictured) had been managing the distribution team on an interim level since Frost moved on to join Wexiodisk, but was recently promoted to the position of national sales manager — UK&I distribution on a permanent basis.

Hemsil will now have responsibility for the management of the regional sales managers and the area sales manager.

He will also be tasked with growing Manitowoc’s position in his assigned territory as a strategic supply partner by setting up the right distribution and service channels and cultivating relationships with existing and prospective dealers and end-users to generate sales leads.

His appointment was one of three promotions that Manitowoc announced within its customer service and sales team this month.

Richard Paine has been promoted to commercial support manager, where he will manage purchasing procedures and inbound logistics transport partners, while Sarah Griffiths has been promoted to order processing supervisor.

Her role involves bringing together the currently separate equipment and spare parts order teams and looking for ways to improve the systems and processes which are in place.
