Manitowoc hits purple patch

The Manitowoc i-1406A is the latest high capacity ice cube machine to be launched into its Indigo series.

Designed to provide quality ice in large quantities, it features advanced diagnostics and incorporates features enabling consistently pure ice while making it easier to maintain and operate. The monitoring technology includes an acoustic sensor probe, which listens to the sound of the ice forming, to ensure good operation, even in hard water areas.

The Indigo 1406A is now available in the UK through Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM).

The i-1406A is a modular ice maker, compatible with Manitowoc’s B-style range of storage bins, and is capable of making 709kg of ice per day. It produces dice cubes, a hard, clear, slow-melting ice cube that is said to provide maximum cooling and quick production. A half-dice model is also available.

The EasyRead display provides cleaning reminders and information regarding operating status. The Indigo series is claimed to cut energy costs by allowing the user to schedule ice production levels by time of day, either taking advantage of off-peak energy rates or to keep pace with varying demand throughout the week.

Designed to be easy to clean, the i-1406A features a hinged front door for access, and removable components for fast and efficient maintenance. Key components are made from AlphaSan antimicrobial material.

The Duratech exterior provides resistance to corrosion while the stainless finish is designed to resist dirt and fingerprints. The optional patented LuminIce growth inhibitor controls the growth of bacteria and yeast in the food zone.

The i-1406A is 122cm wide, 62cm deep and 75cm high. List price is £7,390.00. It is backed by a 3 year warranty and is available through FEM distributors nationwide.
