Manitowoc equips Bocuse d'Or chef for action


Manitowoc Foodservice and its Convotherm brand have announced their support for the UK’s Adam Bennett as he goes head-to-head with international chefs in the much-anticipated Bocuse d’Or culinary contest.

The manufacturer is providing its new range of Convotherm 4 combination ovens for the final stages of the cooking competition, during which shortlisted chefs from 11 different countries compete to win a coveted trophy after months of intense preparation.

Bennett is currently putting the new equipment to the test during his practice sessions in the specially-built Bocuse d’Or competition kitchen at the University College, Birmingham.

After witnessing a cooking demonstration from Bennett, Andy Daniels from Manitowoc Foodservice said: “Bocuse d’Or is a truly world famous culinary competition, and Manitowoc Foodservice with the Convotherm brand is delighted to be associated with such a well-respected event. We are keen to support our industry’s rising stars, while at the same time maintaining our relationships with talented chefs like Adam.”

Bennett and his commis chef, Josh Allen, will represent the UK in the Bocuse d’Or finale in Lyon on January 27-28.

Held every two years in Lyon, France, the candidates qualify for the prestigious Bocuse d’Or competition by participating in Continental Selection events (Bocuse Europe, Bocuse Asia-Pacific and Bocuse Latin America), individual events or by being awarded a ‘Wildcard’.
