Malibu Corporation has seen its sales of soft ice cream machines double within the petrol station forecourt sector this year.
In fact, it has struggled to maintain stock levels due to such high demand.
The manufacturer’s self serve model dispenses a set portion at the touch of a button and can be fitted with a coin-operated mechanism or a wired remote for added control. Its self-pasteurising function is said to reduce cleaning from twice a week to once a fortnight and reduce wastage by up to 75%.
Leonard McCullagh is one forecourt operator who now owns a new self serve machine. He said: “We’re very happy with it – it’s easy to use and the customers love it!”
Malibu’s compact ice cream machines are claimed to be ideal for smaller sites with limited counter space, and the firm reports that this size has been selling well this year too.
The company stated: “We’ve worked hard to improve and expand our range of machines to suit more business types and it’s great to see it paying off, especially in this sector.”
