Catering equipment supplier Malibu Corporation has launched a self-serve soft ice cream machine that it claims will revolutionise the soft ice cream and frozen desert industry.
The Manchester-based outfit, which has been trading for 30 years, reckons the Malibu Self-Serve C/SP could be the most user-friendly machine currently on the market.
It says the machine opens up the extremely lucrative soft ice cream market to all food retailers at an affordable cost as it is operated by customers.
By placing the cup or cone in the holder and pressing a button, a measured portion of soft ice cream or frozen yoghurt is dispensed within seconds.
Just like other Malibu Soft Ice Cream machines the Self-Serve C/SP will also dispense Frozen Yogurt, which is already a growing market.
The compact design and unique air cooling system means the machine can fit into the tightest of spots, while an in-built self-pasteurising system means it only needs cleaning every two weeks as opposed to every 2-3 days.
Tony Keating, managing director of Malibu Corporation, said: “After working with soft ice cream machines for over 30 years, this is perhaps the most innovative and cutting-edge machine I have ever used. Not only does it make fantastic soft ice cream, but it is also the quietest soft ice cream machine I have ever used.”
Malibu Corporation has supplied equipment nationwide to well-known companies such as Spar, Costcutter, Nandos and Asda.
Keating says that there are very few products out there offering such a large margin opportunity as soft ice cream or frozen yogurt, where upwards of 80% profit can be made.
“Having this product automated means a significant reduction in labour as well as having an innovative product to draw more customers in,” he said.
