London Bio Packaging has been accepted as an approved supplier to the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
The SRA aims to help restaurants become more environmentally friendly. Approved suppliers and their products must be rigorously assessed for sustainability, and the environmental benefits they provide.
“The SRA are committed to making a positive change to the restaurant industry. We are delighted to be the first packaging company to become an approved supplier, and are looking forward to working with them to highlight the environmental and business benefits of establishing an ethical supply chain,” says Marcus Hill, founder and managing director of London Bio Packaging.
London Bio Packaging supplies compostable and recyclable packaging, printing, product design and composting services to thousands of food and catering organisations across Europe.
Mark Linehan, managing director of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, says that composting is a valuable tool in the reduction of waste. “Packaging can be a major issue for restaurants and so our primary advice is to reduce packaging. But, where essential, we would encourage our restaurants to use compostable and recyclable packaging so we are delighted that we can now recommend London Bio Packaging to our member restaurants as an Approved Supplier,” he adds.
