Mike Mellor, managing director of Space Catering Equipment, has been named as a member of Gloucestershire Chamber of Commerce’s new board.
Mellor is one of several local business people to be appointed to the board, which will serve as a voice for local enterprises on issues at a regional and national level.
The chamber is part of Business West Chambers of Commerce, which represents a network of 6,000 businesses in Bath, Bristol and Gloucestershire
County Chamber director, Suzanne Hall-Gibbins, told the Gloucestershire Echo: “It is about supporting businesses to grow and develop, with services, training, development, networking and connecting people with local supply chains to help businesses to achieve this.”
Mellor is joined on the board by seven other council and business executives specialising in various fields from PR to food supply.
“We are really lucky and pleased with the calibre of businesses that have come on board and we have tried to have a reasonable geographical spread,” Hall-Gibbins told the paper. “I think growth, export and business development is where we will be concentrating,”
Gloucester-based Space Catering Equipment was formed 12 years ago and has risen to become of the UK’s key kitchen houses.
