Oldham-based catering equipment supplier Linda Lewis Kitchens (LLK) has been named as a finalist once again for this year’s Oldham Business Awards in the ‘Supporting Young People’ category.
This isn’t the first time the company has been up for its local business awards, as MD Linda Lewis was nominated by various members of the public and won the Oldham Business Woman of the Year in 2014.
This year the company has been selected as a finalist for its dedication to its company ethos of developing its younger employees’ talent. The firm boasts that 73% of its staff is under 30 with 100% of that figure embarking in relevant apprenticeships and courses whilst employed at LLK to further their development.
Chloe Lewis, sales administrator at the company, has been undertaking an apprenticeship in customer service and business administration during her 2 years at LLK. “Being able to gain qualifications whilst working has been a very rewarding experience, as I have been able to earn whilst I learn,” she commented.
Furthermore, Linda Lewis stated: “It is essential in this day and age to bring young people onboard and support them through training to grow and prosper with the company – they are our future.”
The winners of the awards will be announced on Friday 12 May at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.
