LLK, importer of pizza equipment brand, Cuppone, is bringing the second generation of the Cuppone Giotto pizza oven to the UK market.
In 2009, Cuppone launched the Giotto oven, the first electric oven to feature a revolving cordierite stone base. The new reimagined Giotto is said to retain all the favourite features of the original model but now carries intelligent touch-screen technology. This new feature should enable pizzaiolos to tap into automatic cooking programming, customisable base rotation and automatic oven activation.
The Giotto 2.0 can be programmed to turn on automatically at days and times of the operator’s choosing and start performing at predetermined settings which are customised to cook specific dishes. For example, if a catering operation cooks bread on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, they can programme the oven to switch itself on at 8am on these days and automatically begin reaching the optimum temperature and power settings for baking bread. Chefs should not need to come into work early solely to switch the oven on and use energy for any longer than is necessary.
The new Giotto is also designed to boost productivity in high demand catering operations. Users can customise the speed and direction of the base’s rotation to the optimum specifications for loading and unloading the oven with ease and efficiency. The rotational base is said to simplify loading and unloading a full deck.
The Cuppone Giotto oven arrives at its new home in its ‘travelling position’. The oven in this form can fit through standard sized doorways of 800w x 1,900h on its journey into the kitchen. Once it has been wheeled into the desired spot, it can be winched into cooking position and assembled within one hour.
The supplier believes that the oven’s aesthetic and stainless steel construction makes it suitable for use in an open kitchen. It can be customised in a range of colours and designs to complement the existing decor. It comes supplied with an extraction hood and a stand with storage room for pizza boxes or accessories. It is designed to fit into a corner space for operations where space is at a premium.
Jenna Lewis, commercial director at LLK, commented: “We are thrilled to once again introduce the UK hospitality industry to the latest creation of our master manufacturers at Cuppone.
“Cuppone have been designing and manufacturing pizza equipment with the wants and needs of pizzaiolos in mind since 1963, taking all operational and energy efficiency challenges into account. Their products enhance the performance of pizza chefs worldwide, saving them time, energy and money.
“The second generation of the Cuppone Giotto oven will enable restaurants, hotels, gastro pubs and more to boost their productivity, tap into new operational possibilities and achieve their potential.”
