The University of Liverpool is embarking on a £140,000 catering installation at its London campus in Finsbury Square.
Construction work at the site is being managed by main contractor Overbury, while the catering facilities have been designed by The Russell Partnership.
Installation work will commence across multiple floors of the historic 1930s property, with a cold room, freezer room and storage facilities planned for the basement and a servery area for the ground floor.
The kitchen will be located on the seventh floor along with a dishwashing area.
All aspects of the catering installation will be managed by Chester-based C&C Catering Equipment, which earlier this year won a two-part contract that also includes delivering foodservice facilities at the university’s Merseyside campus.
A special feature of the London scheme is the unique servery counters that are ‘monolithic’ in style and have satin polished stainless steel worktops and fascia panels.
Access is also going to be a challenge with all the equipment needed for higher floor levels having to be lifted initially to the first floor before being transferred to an external hoist to take them to the seventh floor.
