Liquidators have officially been appointed at Ankor Gas Services, an East Kilbride company specialising in gas services and catering equipment leasing.
The news was confirmed today in a notification on the London Gazette website following a hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.
The notice stated: “Keith Anderson of mlm Solutions, Glasgow, was appointed liquidator of Ankor Gas Services Limited on 24 October 2019.” The court order stated that the company is unable to pay its debts.
Catering Insight approached mlm Solutions but was not able to obtain further comment on what led to the liquidation. Ankor Gas Services’ website is now offline and its phone line is disconnected.
The family firm was incorporated in 1975, with Shirley and Archie Miller currently listed as directors on Companies House.
Trading as AGS Cater Hire, the company supplied catering equipment for private events such as weddings and celebrations, to high-profile public events, including The Royal Highland Show, as well as an emergency appliance supply service across Scotland. Orders could comprise one item of emergency kitchen equipment, up to a fully-equipped temporary kitchen for a big event.
All of the business’ gas equipment was configured to use LPG and was serviced and maintained in-house by its experienced Gas Safe-registered engineers.
Appliances included six and four burner ranges, hot cupboards, bain maries, double basket fryers, griddles, barbecues, boilers, bratt pans, stock pot burners and salamanders.
The petition to wind up the firm was first presented to Hamilton Sheriff Court by the Millers in August, with mlm acting as the interim liquidator at the time.
Its assets were subsequently auctioned off by Glasgow-based industrial auctioneers Sweeney Kincaid, including AGS’ stock of catering equipment, power tools and vehicle fleet.
