Italian catering equipment specialist, Linda Lewis Kitchens, has introduced new twists on its Volano vertical flywheel slicer from FAC.
The slicer is hand-built in Italy at the FAC factory in Cavaria, Varese.
The aluminium hand-operated slicer, with stainless steel parts, is available in 184 colours to satisfy the trend of customising catering products.
As well as metallic paint, the slicer comes in black, red and cream, as standard.
The slicers are hand-operated and can slice to thicknesses of between 0 and 25mm.
There are three blade sizes – 10”, 12” and 14” – available, according to what types of meat are being sliced.
They have a built-in blade sharpener, plus choices of a flower and rosette flywheel are available, as well as optional pedestals.
They come with a two-year parts and one-year labour warranty.
Volano has also introduced a Spring 2016 collection of wooden accessory options, in the form of an olive or Padouk wooden knobs kit and tray.
MD, Linda Lewis, said: “The Volano slicer is a beautiful piece of equipment that can become a real talking point in a stylish delicatessen, or restaurant in which the emphasis is on doing things the traditional way and in front of the diner.
“Now, with the addition of the wooden accessories, there’s even more of a touch of Italian class about the Volano, creating perceptions of an artisan approach to everything the caterer is doing.”
