Lincat staff walk on in support of charity

A team of staff from catering equipment manufacturer Lincat has raised £2,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society through a charity walk.

The seven-mile Memory Walk, which started at the Lincat factory in Lincoln on Saturday, was organised by employees Wendy Crookes and Denise Knott, whose mother and father, respectively, suffer from Alzheimer’s.

Lincat receptionist, Wendy, said: “Both Denise and I know first-hand the impact that Alzheimer’s can have on the lives of so many, which is why we wanted to do something positive to support the excellent work of the Alzheimer’s Society.”

Around 40 people took part in the walk, which saw Lincat donate a further £350 on top of the £1,650 that has already been raised through sponsorship.

The pair hope to eventually get the figure up to £3,000 and have set up a donations page here.
