Lincat has landed a lucrative deal with Marston’s that will see its equipment supplied to the brewery group’s chain of 1,100 managed and franchised pubs throughout the UK.
The list of specified equipment focuses largely on Lincat’s heavy duty Opus 700 range, including oven ranges, fryers and high efficiency Vortech fryers with built-in filtration.
It also includes automatic water boilers and Opus combi steamers.
Marston’s made the decision to specify Lincat following a tender process that included two extensive equipment trials.
The first day-long trial took place at Marston’s development and training kitchen in Wolverhampton, where several of its chefs from different sites were invited to cook and give feedback on the kit.
The second trial involved testing Lincat equipment at one Marston’s pub over a month-long period. The catering equipment was assessed for performance and energy efficiency, as well as price and service support.
Andy Kershaw, group facilities manager at Marston’s, said: “Lincat equipment is well designed, well made and competitively priced. But Lincat has also impressed us with their speed of delivery for new equipment and the quality of their after-sales service.”
Lincat says Marston’s is the latest success for its Opus 700 range of heavy duty equipment in national accounts. It is already specified by Spirit, Greene King, Sainsbury’s, McMullen’s, J D Wetherspoon, SA Brains, JLP/Waitrose, Asda and Debenhams.
Rob Gibson, group national accounts manager at Lincat, added: “We are delighted with the new partnership we now have with Marston’s. They operate a rigorous tendering process, which is understandable given the number of outlets they manage, so the performance of our products was critical, not least in terms of energy efficiency.”
