With immediate effect, Lincat is extending its warranty for all products sold in the UK and Ireland, to two years onsite parts and labour.
Currently two year terms are only provided for Lincat’s Opus700 products and Opus combi steamers. This means that Lincat will now offer a uniform warranty across its entire range, from the smallest Lynx 400 boiling top to a 40-grid combi steamer.
This move follows a steady reduction in the number of warranty claims over recent years, which is the result of Lincat’s sustained programme of product development.
It is a demonstration of Lincat’s confidence in its entire product range, as Lincat’s marketing director, Nick McDonald explains: “We have one of the largest R&D departments in the industry and this means that new products are carefully designed for optimum performance and reliability. This facility also allows us to address any product issues swiftly and effectively. So confident are we in the quality and reliability of Lincat products, that we are able now to offer warranty terms which are typically twice as good as the industry average, especially for light duty equipment.
“Competitors often offer only a one year warranty and some cover parts only whilst others require faulty products to be returned to the supplier for repair, adding to downtime. By contrast ours is an onsite warranty covering parts and labour, and is supported by a network of experienced engineers. The only exceptions are consumable items such as bulbs and toaster elements.”
McDonald adds: “Initial feedback from our dealer network suggests that our new, extended warranty terms provide an important point of difference for Lincat, which will boost sales and reduce the burden of aftersales support.”
